Which iPhones work?

HomeScan needs the LiDAR Scanner, found on iPhone 12 Pro and later Pro models, running iOS 17 or later. Other iPhones show a screen explaining this.

How do I get a good scan?

Turn on the lights, open the doors between rooms, and walk slowly through the whole space in one go, pointing the camera at the walls and the floor where they meet. Tap Finish when you've been everywhere.

How accurate are the measurements?

Measurements come from Apple's RoomPlan and are usually within a few percent. That's great for planning furniture and comparing places, but not a substitute for a professional survey.

The camera doesn't start

Open the Settings app, find HomeScan, and turn on Camera.

Where are my scans stored?

Only on your iPhone. They're included in your iCloud device backup if that's turned on. Deleting the app deletes your scans.

Can I turn off usage stats?

Yes. In HomeScan, go to Settings and turn off Share anonymous usage stats. See the privacy policy for details.
